Everyone has those days where they do not feel good. Sometimes it is about their body, maybe their personality, maybe their laugh, maybe their hair. Imagine living a life where you feel completely and totally comfortable being exactly who you are no matter where you are or who you are around. That would be a good life, right? Although we are always going to have moments of insecurity I think it is important to give yourself little reminders about just how amazing you should feel to be you.

KNOW YOUR SELF WORTH

Love the things you (think) you hate, they make you who you are.

We pick ourselves apart based on the things we really don’t like. Often, when we look in the mirror it is only those things that we see. Look at those things and learn how to own them. I don’t say this as a way to make you “feel better” about your flaws, when I say this it is because these things make you, YOU, and that is truly totally unique and beautiful.

MAKE YOUR OWN RULES

You most likely are feeling a little doubtful in yourself because you feel like you don’t fit someone else’s definition of pretty, smart, confident, driven, or whatever else it may be. Here is how you change that: make your own rules, write your own definition of beautiful, of smart, or of anything you want. Although everyone is free to create their own definition, no one has a right to tell you your definition is wrong.

GRATITUDE

It is important to remember that everyone goes through tough times, whether that be unfortunate events, or doubting themselves. In these times trying your best, no matter how challenging it might be, to remember all the things you are grateful for can really help pull you out of that negative state.

KINDNESS

Yes, kindness is my answer to everything. If you are feeling uncomfortable in your own skin, insecure, or like you are not enough, practice actively being kind to yourself as well to others. Kindness will always work in your favour, sometimes it might be difficult to see it that way, but in the end being kind will get you further than where you started.

AVOID JUDGEMENTAL PEOPLE

People are always going to have opinions, good or bad. There is no way to avoid these people all together but surrounding yourself with the people who try their best to not be judgemental are the people who are going to help you become more comfortable in your own skin.

BE WHO YOU KNOW YOU ARE MEANT TO BE

It doesn’t matter who you are or where you came from. No one can get mad at you for following your passion, pursuing your dreams, and trying to better yourself. We all have a fire inside of us that tells us to go down a certain path, that is what you are called to do, do it. Pursuing what it is that really makes you happy and following the path that is going to make you become the best, most happy version of yourself is going to help you get through the days that you don’t feel totally ok.

We might not always feel like we are enough but being someone we are not isn’t going to help us feel more comfortable in our own skin. Be YOU, because you are the only YOU there is.
